Qatar University (QU) has revised its new tuition fee rates. Boosting them for all postgraduate students as well as undergraduate non-Qatari students. As well as increasing the cost of on-campus living. It only applies to new students who will begin attending in the fall of 2023.
Qatar University pointed out that this growth is related to the fact. That the institution delivers top-notch higher education across a range of fields. Giving its students numerous benefits and facilities. But its new tuition fee rates are out of line with the expenses it faces.
What are the new changes in QU fees for 2023?
According to the new modifications, the new tuition fee rates at the bachelor’s level for courses offered by the College of Education, the College of Law, the College of Sharia and Islamic Studies, and the College of Arts and Science’s Humanities Department is now QR 1,100 per credit hour.
The new tuition fee rates have increased to QR 1,200 per credit hour for the courses offered by the College of Business and Economics, the College of Health Sciences, the College of Nursing, the Foundation programme, and the scientific courses in the College of Arts and Science, at Qatar university.
On the other side, the new tuition fee rates have increased to QR 1,400 per credit hour for the College of Engineering, College of Pharmacy, and the Arabic language programme for non-native speakers.
For undergraduate courses
Additionally, the yearly tuition for students at the Qatar university, Colleges of Medicine and Dental Medicine rose from QR 38,000 for the first year to QR 72,000 for the following two years, QR 108 000 for the following year, and QR 138,000 for each of the following two years. Qatar University made it clear that tuition costs for students enrolled in the colleges of medicine and dentistry are approximations, with the QU fees in 2023 altering according to the courses each student.
For Master’s and Ph.D. courses
In masters and Ph.D. degrees, including the PharmD programme. The credit hour for each course is now set at QR 2,200 as QU fees 2023. The credit hour cost for the Master of Business Administration (MBA) programme is currently set at QR 2,600. At the same time, the cost per credit hour for the Education Diploma Program increased to QR 2,000. Qatar University provided information regarding the modification of QU fees 2023, student housing fees, stating that the room fees have been adjusted according to their area and the number of room occupants, maintaining the fees for small rooms for single occupancy (QR 2000/per month) while increasing the fees for large rooms (QR 1100-2600/per month).
Other Changes
Three meals a day, housing costs, and transportation to and from the campus’s buildings are all included in this charge. The Qatar university dorms stand out for their top-notch amenities and services. Which include a fitness center, a computer lab, a dining hall, a Majlis, and common spaces.
The Qatar University provided housing for the Spanish and Argentine teams for the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022. The first day of each semester, or before the start of the next semester’s course registration session, is when new tuition fee rates are due. Regardless of the student’s major, QU claimed that QU fees 2023 had been projected based on the programme rate under which the enrolled course falls.
As a result, if two students with different majors enroll in the same course, their tuition costs will be equal.
